Hybrid parrots are not seen in the wild and if they are, they don’t survive long. For instance, I often tend to get pure white or pure yellow parakeets. It’s just a personal preference of mine. Sometimes you will see them in pet shops and even in the wild, however, they do not have the camouflage the other parakeets have and are easy targets for predatory birds. Now they aren’t a “hybrid” per-say but a result of “color mutation” which is why hybrids are mainly in existence.

The definition of a hybrid is… “an organism that is the offspring of genetically dissimilar parents or stock; especially offspring produced by breeding plants or animals of different varieties or breeds or species” (produced by cross breeding)

I have two Camelot Macaws which are my first ever “hybrid” birds.

They are also the very first hybrids I have ever worked with. More macaw hybrids are:

- Shamrock
- Calico
- Miligold
- Catalina
- Camelot
- Cameo
- Jubilee
- Maui Sunset
- Buffons
- Harlequin

And more listed here.
